Sanctuary.

A place is home only when you are welcomed
No blood ties nor DNA is a promise for happiness
You bleed to death for understanding, they will let you
But to pour in a different type, certified sanity
And if acceptance is something to suffer for,
It is not worth it

You unlock the locks and undo combinations
But they see no treasure kept inside of you
Perhaps they do not believe
That the stars shine brighter when night is at its' darkest
But want traffic lights flashing till they are blinded

Fed me with wealth and knowledge
But I have been yearning for acceptance and warmth
Such I have been blindfolded to look upon
Beginning to believe as a horrible being
You do not deserve a glimpse of paradise

We breathe the same air
But exhale counter thoughts
Our heart differ and it signifies hate
Why are we raising negativity under our roof?
If I am already and outsider,
When can I pack up and leave?
